Grandchildren

(I am reposting this blog from March 3, 2015. We are finding out that our six year old granddaughter may come a spend one month of the summer with us!)

I am so excited! Please pray that this will happen! I will keep you all posted!

One of the joys of being a parent is to become a grandparent!

We only have the one grand out of our three children, so the other ones better get busy! We do have an ‘almost’ granddaughter from our son’s former girlfriend. Even though she may not be related to us by blood, she is definitely related to us by heart.

So then actually, we have two granddaughters, one six almost seven and one who just turned seven.

They are at that age where everything is magical; bright colors with sparkles and feathers and beads with singing and dancing and playing and jumping! Oh my! I get tired just thinking about their boundless energy.

Then there is plenty of papers with crayons, markers and paints. Creating sceneries of real and imagined places. Of flying ponies and orange birds. People with pink hair and houses with blue windows.

There is modeling clay to make psychedelic snakes and worms. Tea cups and dinner plates with green peas and steaks.

Dresses made of gauze, nylon and lace. With uneven flowing hemlines, to twirl and twirl and twirl until they become dizzy and collapse on the floor in a pile of pastels, wands and tiaras.  Ribbons, barrettes, bows and headbands. Pink and yellow and orange and green. Storybooks upon storybooks. About castles and cats. About Mommies and Daddies with little brothers and older sisters. Stories about fairies and dragons, about friends and fun times.

My granddaughters, oh how I love them!

Now how about having a grandson??
