Do I Smell Like God?

2 Corinthians 2:14-15a, “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads in every place the fragrance that comes from knowing him. For we are the aroma of Christ to God…” (NRSV)
I love this scripture!
When you have been in the presence of your loved one, you smell like them.
You have rubbed against them, embraced them, touched them.
The aromas of the cologne, perfume, or soap that they used, becomes intermingled on you.
You sniff your clothes or your skin and you smell ‘them,’ and the pleasant memories bring a smile to your face.
Do you smell like you’ve have been with God?
Have you been in His Presence lately?
Reading His Word?
Praying to Him?
Treating others as He would treat them?
That’s my goal today, I want to emit the fragrance of God to others…

  1. I shared this with two friends who use the same poetic language when speaking of their relationship with God. One wrote back right away to say how much she liked it. You may find a few reader!
